Creating interest in gardening, protecting forests, wildflowers and birds, and encouraging civic and community plantings in Anne Arundel County since 1996.
We are not your grandmother's garden club.
Sure, we have an occasional tea party, swap plants and keep up with the latest in new plant releases and horticulture, but the Moonflower Garden Club, one of 112 garden clubs in the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland, is a modern-day community service and social organization. We have built on the foundation of all the good things that garden clubbers of yesteryear accomplished but with a contemporary twist. Times have changed and so have garden clubs.
We play with dirt.
We propagate heirloom plants. We create incredible floral designs for our homes and for flower shows. We decorate local nursing homes for the holidays. We teach children how plants grow and how to care for them and our planet. We create and maintain tranquil and lush public gardens in our community so that our neighbors can enjoy them. We like to see daffodils blooming with wild abandon along a county trail, knowing that our efforts are making our enviroment a little prettier for everyone who passes by. We support organizations who share our vision. We do all these things with gusto and really have fun while we're at it.
We welcome both men and women.
All are encouraged to join us no matter what their level of gardening and design skill. Interested? Contact us. Sit-in on one of our upcoming meetings where you'll learn a thing or two from one of our intriguing guest speakers. You can then decide if you want to join the ranks of nearly 200,000 gardeners in the USA who belong to a federated garden club. Happy gardening!
